Lulworth Castle, Dorset | Katy & Luke

Wedding Videography at a stunning castle venue

So, after much deliberation I have finally decided to get into blogging. I’ve known for a while that this is the way forward for businesses like mine, along with Instagram, and I’ve finally jumped on the band wagon, so bear with me.

Last year I travelled down to Lulworth, Dorset to capture the wedding of Luke and Katy at the STUNNING Lulworth Castle. After finding me on Facebook, I didn’t really know what to except from the big day – but it DID NOT disappoint! This place truly is one of the most stunning wedding venues I have ever been to. From the venue itself, to the people, to the weather – everything was perfect.

We drove down the day before so we could get to bridal preparation nice and early on the morning of the wedding. The moment we walked through the door of the cottage, that morning, I could tell the day was going to be good. All you could hear was old school 90’s tunes and laughter – the best combination. It was great to work alongside David Wheeler as we both share a bright, laid back, friendly approach to our work.

After Katy had gotten into her beautiful wedding dress, we decided to shoot off to the church. So basically, Lulworth Castle has about 3 wedding venues inside its grounds, the main castle is for the wedding reception and there are also 2 church’s for the ceremonies. Once we arrived at the venue to time was perfect to capture some drone video, as the weather was AMAZING! I got some establishing shots of the venue along with a tracking shot of Katy arriving in her classic wedding car.

Once the religious ceremony had finished it was party time! The whole afternoon was packed full of games and fun, in the gardens behind the castle. Everything from giant chess to giant connect four and everything in between.

Anyone that has been to Lulworth before will know that it is famous for it’s beaches and coastal views – if you’re ever down there you need to check out Lulworth Cove. So how could we not take Katy and Luke to the beach to get their couples portraits and cinematic video footage. I literally can’t express in words how amazing the footage looks.

Now it’s time for the first dance as husband and wife. The first dance was very intimate, with just Katy and Luke in the middle of a big circle of family and friends. AND THEN, Beyonce starts blasting out and all the bridesmaids, and Katy, performed a secretly choreographed dance for Luke. And in all honest I have to admit, they were rather good.

To finish off what certainly seems like the dream English, Castle, Wedding – Katy & Luke got in their wedding car and drove down the driveway to a massive firework display. And then that was it – the end of a mammoth 18 hour day!

This was definitely one of my favourites so far.
